Apartment Review for Rue Versailles - Detroit, MI

I have lived at Rue Versailles for a year now. The previous reviewer was correct about certain things- the buildings are old and the exterior landscaping could be better. But the apartment manager is very personable and helpful, and the few issues I have had in my apartment, he has taken care of directly. For a two bedroom apartment in this area, I feel that I am getting a great deal, even if there are some minor cosmetic issues. the streets have been repaved, although The parking areas are still blacktop and are at the point where they could probably use concrete paving instead of filling in more potholes :) The neighborhood is safe - I actually grew up about 4 blocks from here- and it is convenient to 696. There is a budget complex across the freeway park that is similarly priced but *awful*. I like living in this neighborhood, am I am glad that I was not in a position to have to rent there to stay in the area.
